Building a Foundation for Success in College, Career, and Community Citizenship
At Tidewater Academy, we offer a Preschool-Grade 12 college-preparatory curriculum. Students learn in a classroom environment that is caring, engaging, and challenging. Our small class sizes provide a special environment where teachers can provide individualized attention and students can thrive academically. We focus on the traditional disciplines of English, Mathematics, Science, History, Foreign Language, and Art, while developing the core values of family, community, and good citizenship. There are also opportunities to pursue yearbook, financial literacy, service learning, and dual enrollment. Students may seek to develop leadership skills through SGA, or other student organizations, as well as participate on athletic teams. Special events, field trips, guest speakers, and independent study projects provide education beyond the classroom. Students graduate from Tidewater Academy as well-rounded young adults ready to succeed in college, at work, and in their communities.
At Tidewater Academy, we discover the academic potential in every student, every moment, and every resource. Within our small classes you’ll find teachers who are focused on teaching, who care for their students as if they were family, and who provide individual attention to every learner. It’s a special environment that nurtures young minds and shapes our students into lifelong learners, leaders, and citizens who positively impact the communities in which they live and the industries in which they work.
We strive to help our students develop their athletic potential, value teamwork and good sportsmanship, develop a desire to work hard and compete, and adopt healthy physical fitness habits. We know these value, skills, and experiences help to propel our students to become successful, well-rounded young adults.
Not only do we help our students’ discover their academic and athletic potentials, but we also provide a safe and supportive environment for developing an appreciation for effective leadership, community service, citizenship, communication, and achievement beyond the classroom. Our student organizations and other school events and activities provide opportunities for our students to grow into well-rounded students as they progress through our lower, middle, and upper schools.
