Each student must earn his/her English credit in the previous grade level to advance to the next grade level.
Standard Diploma
27 Credits
- English – 5 Credits
- Mathematics – 3 Credits (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2)
- Laboratory Science – 4 Credits (Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry)
- History and Social Sciences – 4 Credits (World Geography, World History, US History, US & Virginia Government)
- Foreign Language – 2 Credits (Must be sequential)
- Health, Physical Education, & Drivers Education – 3 Credits
- Fine Arts or Practical Arts – 1 Credit
- Electives – 5 Credits (Must include Financial Literacy)
*21 Credits must be earned in grades 9-12
Advanced Studies Diploma
30 Credits
- English – 5 Credits (Must include 1 Dual Enrollment credit)
- Mathematics – 4 Credits (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus)
- Laboratory Science – 5 Credits (Physical Science, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
- History and Social Sciences – 4 Credits (World Geography, World History, US History, US & Virginia Government – Must include 1 Dual Enrollment credit)
- Foreign Language – 4 Credits (2 and 2 sequential)
- Health, Physical Education, & Drivers Education – 3 Credits
- Fine Arts or Practical Arts – 1 Credit
- Electives – 4 Credits (Must include Financial Literacy)
*24 credits must be earned in grades 9 through 12.
