Upper School

Grades 9-12

Stimulating, Engaging, and Challenging Students in a Small Classroom Environment

Preparing Students for College, Work, & Community

Preparing our upper school students to succeed in college, in work, and as responsible community citizens is the emphasis on grades 9-12.  Our upper school teachers are caring and dedicated, and provide coursework to stimulate, engage, and challenge students.  Classes are small and teachers are able to provide individualized attention.

We emphasize the traditional disciplines of English, Mathematics, Science, History, Social Studies, and Foreign Languages.  In partnership with Richard Bland College, we offer dual enrollment classes to our juniors and seniors so that they earn both high school and college credits.  We also offer classes in yearbook, financial literacy, service learning, and driver’s education.  Students meeting certain requirements may be inducted into the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society.

Community service, field trips, special programs and speakers, and senior independent study extend education beyond the classroom.  We highly encourage our upper school students in grades 9-12 to also participate on our athletic teams and be active members of one of our student organizations.
