Resource, Elective, and Dual Enrollment Offerings
Tidewater Academy’s Lower School offers a variety of resource courses that enhance our core curriculum. In addition to time spent in the classroom, students will participate in resource classes throughout the week. These resources include Physical Education, Music, Art, Engineering, and Spanish.
Tidewater Academy’s Upper School offers students a rigorous academic program designed to prepare a student for attending college, pursuing a trade, or successfully entering the workforce. We also offer electives designed to enhance the academic curriculum. These elective courses include Creative Writing, Public Speaking, Financial Literacy, Advanced Art, STEM, and Spanish.
Dual Enrollment courses are offered through Brightpoint Community College and attended virtually on TA’s campus. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are also held on-campus and are delivered by TA faculty or through Virtual Virginia.
Tidewater Academy partners with Brightpoint Community College to offer a dual enrollment program. This program is currently offered to our juniors and seniors, while tenth graders have the option to test into the dual enrollment program. Classes taken through dual enrollment fulfill credit requirements for both Tidewater Academy and Brightpoint. Students who successfully undertake dual enrollment classes will graduate from TA with college credits and valuable college experience!
